Near Calcutta, the Falta Special Economic Zone is located in a pollution free sylvan environment, at a distance of about 55 kilometres from the heart of Calcutta city and about 45 kilometres from the southern suburbs. It is well connected by a developed network of roads including a State highway, two ports at Calcutta and Haldia and the International airport at Dumdum.
